1.How do I connect to the dormitory network?
A: Please refer to the instructions. If you still can't access the Internet, please report your issues on the website of the dormitory network and apply for repair.
 
2.What should I do when the “blocked” message is shown on the webpage?
A: The system will automatically unlock after 24 hours. During this period, please use anti-virus software to scan your computer or re-install OS (operating system). The Computer Center will not unlock it in advance.
 
3.What’s the reason the ”session” message shown on the list of flow anomalies and exceeding the flow limit ?
A: The session is the number of times that your computer is connecting to other computers in 5 minutes. If the session number is more than 4000, then this IP will be blocked. In general, the session number is about 40 to 60 while browsing a website.
 
4.Can I ask Computer Center to unlock the blocked IP or account in advance?
A: According to the hostel network management standards, the system will automatically unlock after 24 hours, information center will not unlock in advance.
 
5.All the computer settings are correct and the webpage is not blocked, but I am still unable to connect to the network.
A: Please report your issues on the website of the hostel network and apply for repair.
 
6.Can I ask the help from the part-time-job students if I feel something wrong about my computer?
A: The main responsibility of part-time-job students in dormitory is to help the Computer Center to maintain the connection between the sockets in each room to the Data Center. Hence, they don’t have the responsibility to check your personal computers.
 
7.Can I ask part-time-job students to help me reinstall the operating system or checking the hardware problems of my computer?

8.Why cannot I see the LAN icon in the control panel?
A: The driver of network card was not installed.
 
9.How should I do when an exclamation symbol appears in the right lower corner of the computer?
A: Maybe the network cable has some problems. If the network cable is replaced and it still has the same problem, please report your issues on the website of the hostel network and apply for repair.
 
10.Why can’t I access to the Internet after changing my room in dormitory?
A: If you change your room to another floor or to another building, please contact the Office of Student Affairs (Ext-2054) to confirm your accommodation record that is the same as your current status. After authorized via Webpage, you can access to the internet. If you still can’t access the Internet, please report your issues on the website of the hostel network and apply for repair.
 
11.The webpage shows that the blocked IP is abnormal because the traffic volume exceeds the upper limit. What should I do?
A: The total network traffic volume per IP in the dormitory is 10 GB per day. The measurement period of each day is from 00:00 to 24:00. If the total traffic volume exceeds 10 GB, the bandwidth is immediately reduced to 256 kbps. The bandwidth will become regular after 00:00 of the next day, and the network traffic volume is reset to zero.
